I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor. I also have been a singer, songwriter, teacher, tutor, and writer over the years, a diversity which is reflected in my blog posts and in my open approach to working with people. I am continuing to learn innovative ways to help others, including Orton-Gillingham tutoring, for people with dyslexia and learning disabilities, and body based counseling therapies, such as DARe and Somatic Experiencing.
I have over fifteen years of experience with assessment, academic advising, career counseling, and mental health counseling. Areas of interest include creativity, education, health and wellness, cultural adjustment, and career and life transitions. I believe in the latest advances in compassion, interpersonal neurobiology, mindfulness, and neuroscience as they relate to us emotionally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually.
